If your original file is just corrupted but not lost, then please check the version number of your files. If you know MD5 value of the required files, it is the best approach to make choice Try it by all means, but don’t rely on it.Tip: How to correctly select the file you need It has the feel of an early beta that’s looking for a feedback / update process to round off the functionality prior to a “proper” launch. I think the program has probably been launched too soon. It works, as far as it goes, but it’s very unconfigurable (the option to run at startup is only presented at install time) it’s too easy to accidentally terminate it (the X closes rather than minimises the program without so much as an “are you sure”), the interface is very, very basic… (WinPatrol was passed to a third party company, Ruiware, who seem to have abandoned it.)Īnyway, Keep Software Alive is a functionally similar product, at least in terms of the ability to monitor running programs and restart them. Task Catcher is, sadly, no longer supported owing to the retirement of its creator. Task Catcher evolved to a nice product that could monitor any process that you felt should be kept running, with a neat (if slightly idiosyncratic) interface and the ability to do the reverse - block any program that you never wanted to allow to run. Once upon a zillion years ago, the original WInPatrol author created a companion program - Task Catcher - that could be used to monitor WinPatrol and ensure that if it crashed, it would be automatically restarted. I’m not sure this product has much competition.
